Old Antique Vtg 19th C 1800s Large Folk Art Wooden Dollhouse Front Opening Nice

  

This offering is for an antique 19th century wooden dollhouse. The house is a folk art example made for a little girl who was certainly well loved and likely was a copy of their own home. 29" by 13.5" by 38 tall to the top of the chimney. The house features a great two story design with an unusual front opening.

The architectural windows are simply wonderful. There are remnants of old flooring and paper inside but for the most part the inside needs a complete make-over. Also note that a pet baby squirrel who lived in the hose for a brief period decided to make his own access to the lower level by chewing a hole in the floor at the left front corner of the top right hand room. The front panel doors do not quite close flush but I thin it's just due to a slipped hinge.

The paint is early but not the first coat and I can in fact see red under the blue on the roof. The house needs so restoration and work but it will certainly be in eye stopper once it's properly taken care of.
