Antique C19th German Christian Hacker Dollhouse Grocery Store Shop Room Box
Wonderful antique German room box Grocer's Shop. Wooden framed store with natural finish and painted decoration to each front panel.
Back wall fitted with spice drawers, (originally decorated with labels), and a mirrored niche with lift up desk style lid. Lovely fretwork detailing to the top shelf and complete with original Grocer's Shop Made In Germany label to back wall label has repair to one end. Gorgeous Original set of 16 wooden spice barrels, (4 large, 16 small), wooden ladder, shop counter, cash box and scales. Two of the 12 small spice barrels have missing banners the other 10 banners are marked in German, French and English as follows.
The large spice barrels are. Tea (label a little damaged and tricky to read). Label on fourth barrel is partially missing and reads Van. All of the spice barrels have removable lids one large barrel lid is stuck fast. Comes with a nice collection of antique and vintage miniature boxed and tinned goods some packaging in a playworn condition tins showing corrosion.
Smaller set of scales shown in photo 8 are in poor condition but I've included them with the shop as I think they may be part of the original fixtures and fittings, brass weight, barrel and scoop also included. Teddy shop assistant and his lentils for display only. No identifying makers marks to the shop but could be attributed to Christian Hacker as I have seen similar shop labels and identical spice jars and in other Hacker stores.Store measures 54cms in length, 23.5cms in height and has a depth of 22cms. Shop in very good antique condition signs of wear commensurate with age and use. A beautifully preserved little store with lots of lovely original features.
