I wish I had a hundred of them as old ones are nearly impossible to find in this size (so let me know if you have some). POTTERY MAKER- Though Jane Graber is planning to fully retire soon & has lowered production, she is still an active member of the IGMA (International Guild of Miniature Artisans) & has been making miniature replicas of 18th- and 19th-century American salt-glaze stoneware for more than 36 years, hand-throwing each piece on a potter's wheel, then painting and signing her work. She is internationally recognized for her craft, has been featured on the cover of Ceramics Monthly, and regularly does solo and group shows in the U. Her work is extraordinary; she is widely recognized as the best living miniaturist potter & without question is definitely the best in terms of stoneware & redware.
In the later-1980s, Jane began hand-throwing replicas of early American sgraffito redware, which is quite popular among her collectors and others who love Americana. Her pieces have great potential for increasing in value & I completely adore them. CUPBOARD & MAKER- The cupboard is just amazing. It has one blind door & is appropriately aged by nearly the best distresser every to work in DH miniatures. This looks much better in person, but the gorgeous blue is not easy to get right in photos. The last photo with no flash is close to correct. It's a baby blue with a slightly greenish hue & a deep ox blood burgundy inside. The cupboard measures 7 & 1/16" tall X 4 & 1/16" wide X 2 & 1/6 deep. BARBARA VAJNAR- Barbara Vajnar operated as Bubba's Miniatures for around 24 years & she was a master, an IGMA artisan & very skilled. The stoneware always looks so good in her blue cupboards. The rolling pin was made by an artisan that set up beside us at Good Sam in California but I can't remember her name. I (Chris Wood) painted the handles to match. Nothing was ever stuck down so there is no wax or residue. I've spent hours cleaning residue off miniatures & I would never send anything with any on it on purpose, as I try to remove it all.
This one never had any as it was bought directly from her & I never used any to place these. CONDITION- There is no damage to anything. The pottery is unused & the cupboard is vintage with an aged patina but is like new with no issues & no wax residue on it anywhere. This way you are protected and so are we.We describe our items thoroughly & offer many photos. Our description is our description, no need to study our clear photos to try to see damage we didn't describe, as we always do our best to look closely for issues beforehand so you won't have to upon arrival.
