Dolls House Filled Travel Trunk by Bo Press Miniatures

  
1 1/2" x 3 1/4" x 1 1/2 This clever little piece of luggage is a wonderful example of Victorian campaign furniture. It's a traveling library trunk with a fold-down desk surface covered with leather and a sliding glass window to keep out insects and mold. The trunk contains a selection of books suitable for the explorer, including: Darwin's The Voyage of the Beagle, Marco Polo's Travels J. Stephen's Incidents of Travel In Yucatan (in two volumes). The compartment on the right contains a journal, a book of field notes, and a small box of correspondence.

(The books are blank inside) The trunk itself is made of distressed mahogany with brass decorations. The trunk is wrapped with leather secured with brass studs, and has a brass and rope handle on each end shaped like a screaming bat.

The desk surface fastens to the top of the trunk with rope and leather loops. The trunk has a brass keyhole and matching key, not functional, alas. This is a 12th scale (1 scale) collector's item and not suitable for persons under the age of 14 years. Note to Buyers outside the UK - Please Note.
