Dolls house miniature Pair Artisan Antique Austrian Petit Point Gothic Revival C

  
As one of my hobbies, I enjoy visiting old National Trust Houses in the hope of getting some inspiration to help me create new and exciting miniatures. I saw some beautiful Petit Point chairs a few years ago in one of the big houses in Derbyshire and only recently found exquisitely detailed petit point that was fine enough for 12th scale projects. This is a pair of Gothic Revival Chairs which I have refurbished in genuine antique Austrian Petit Point with the finest real stitches. This is a matching pair. The female figure looks like Britannia. This chair style is from the 1860's. The heavy masculine features of this chair are typical of the period as are the rosette roundels and arcaded seat rail.

I'll never have this petit point again. Chair Height 9cm x Width 4cm x Depth 4cm.
