Antique/Vintage (Victorian/Edwardian) Dolls House. Silber & Fleming Swan

  

This is a beautiful box backed antique dolls house. It probably dates from the late 1800's/early 1900's. I believe it could have been made by a company called'Swan' and is probably quite rare. The house has three storeys and a hinged roof (detachable for transit).

It opens in two separate sections, at the front. It measures 125cm tall with the roof, 90cm without, 81cm wide and 32cm deep. The house has undergone some sympathetic restoration, including stripping of old gloss paint from the sides.

The wallpaper in the hallway is original. The drawing room wallpaper is also original but it has been repaired. The bedrooms and the dining room have been re-papered in genuine antique wallpaper of a similar period.

There is a central crack at the back (visible in the upper hallways) and a small vertical crack at the front, but the house is still very solid. The windows have been re-glazed with real glass. The fireplaces are home made and are removable.

The stair rails are replacements. There are doorways but no doors. The door knocker is not original. The furniture does not form part of the sale. The item "Antique/Vintage (Victorian/Edwardian) Dolls House.
