A RARE ANTIQUE SET of GERMAN DOLLS HOUSE FURNITURE SOLD BY HAMLEYS

  
An extremely rare set of antique German oak and velvet dolls house furniture in original box. Consisting of a dresser, longcase clock, dining table with four chairs, sofa, armchair and roll top desk.

The box base is stamped Hamleys European Toy Warehouse Regent Street. I have described it the best I can but please read the following decription of condition and look carefully at the pictures. There are old woodworm holes in one end of the box.

The rubber bands are held in place with cocktail sticks at the rear, no idea if this would have been what was used, I suspect not. Also a few woodworm holes in one side of the desk and also a very few in the dresser. The velvet on the arms of the armchair is slightly worn and along the front edge of the sofa. One leg on one of the dining chairs has a wobble.

The roll top part of the desk is fragile and it is missing two of the original handles. The clock is missing the pendulum and the green insert in the door. However even with these minor issues this is a beautiful and extremely rare set of furniture which I have owned for many years and is now surplus to requirements. All the trimmings and braid are in very good condition and there are no missing legs or finials. Dimensions in cm, box is 56 x 39 x 10 high.

The dresser is 25 tall x 10.5 wide x 6 deep overall. Table 18.5 long x 9 wide x 8 high.
