RARE Wooden Dolls House - Sparrow House - Ipswich - Tibbenham - 1930. Very rare antique dolls house dating from the 1930's and by F Tibbenham Ltd of Ipswich. One of only 20 dolls houses created by F Tibbenham. This is a rare scale model of the Sparrow House in the Buttermarket area of Ipswich which dates from the 15th century. The model stands on a wooden platform and features a second floor that crops out over the first floor.

Painted brick design, thick painted pargeting with ornamental scenes and figures. House front features 4 rounded bays with leaded effect window panes and the coat of arms of Charles II. Further scenes of villagers, boaters, children, men on horseback, mythological figures and cupids. To the front are 2 sets of hinged doors for interior access to 4 large rooms and 2 centre foyers and staircase. Rooms are richly panelled with 4 fireplaces, brick flooring and half timbered ceilings.

A rare and superbly executed piece in fine condition. Dimensions as measured are 27" wide x 12" deep x 24 high to top of chimneys.

Good overall condition for age. Some chips and general knocks over time but really a great example. Items can be viewed by prior arrangement. Our postcode is CV37 7NB.
