It is one of the largest person-built houses that I have every seen. (Around 6,000 square feet in actual house or 6,000 square inches in dollhouse1=1). The house upon which this was based (see photo) was a three story New England home before the Civil War. The front part of the house was for the owners and the back part was for the slave-quarters. There are two screened-in porches not included in the square footage given above.

There are 12 doors--four screen doors, seven outside doors and an arched door. This does not include the inside doors. All parts of the house are handmade and very intricate. There are a few pieces of cabinetry as can be seen in one of the photos.

Some of the inside walls are separate pieces. There are a few pieces that need to be made or reattached by someone who knows how to work on this scale. There is a porch top that needs legs made to hold it up.

The total house can be taken apart to travel but once you figure it out, it is fun to put together! You are welcome to come to St. James, Missouri100 miles west of St. Or, we could meet in St.

You must be a lover of dollhouses, an explorer of history and handy-person who enjoys miniature work to appreciate this great building in miniature. There are many things that you could do with this creative piece. Questions are encouraged and will be answered.
