ITEM- 1996 Dollhouse Cupboard Renee Bowen Caroline Pierce + 19 pcs Jane Graber Pottery in 1:12 Scale. DESCRIPTION- In my opinion, this is the most beautiful piece with pottery I've ever put together, not as much because of my ability to arrange things but because of the combination of a remarkable 1996 ("1873") cupboard (#3) by Renee Bowen (retired), painted by Caroline Pierce which is perfected by the addition of 19 pieces by master miniature potter Jane Graber's superb stoneware.

Caroline Pierce was from Maine & did some very nice paintings & painted porcelain, & painted furniture. If you know more about her (or are her), feel free to send me a message as I'd love to learn more. Renee's work has always been wonderful, but she did not date most of the pieces of hers I have owned, so that is an added bonus. With the work of the two artisans together & now three, this piece is just stunning.

I love the little flat "finials" that stick up on each side & are mirrored by two more coming down at the top. The deep barn red sets off the blue & white perfectly to match the stoneware.

It has one drawer, so nicely painted & is is dated "1873" on the side & signed on the back as #3 of those they made together. I can find no record of another coming up before & if you saw this when I bought it & didn't, you failed to see its amazing potential to hold Jane's stoneware. I like any good looking furniture with Graber redware, but vintage pieces are my favorite & when it's in a piece that you could likely never replace, it makes it even better. I really love it & hope you will too. The cupboard measures 7 & 1/4" tall X 3 & 1/16" wide X 1 & 7/16 deep (counting pulls). POTTERY MAKER- Jane Graber, who plans to retire this year!

Is a member of the IGMA (International Guild of Miniature Artisans), has been making miniature replicas of 18th- and 19th-century American salt-glaze stoneware for more than 35 years, hand-throwing each piece on a potter's wheel, then painting and signing her work. She is internationally recognized for her craft, has been featured on the cover of Ceramics Monthly , and regularly does solo and group shows in the U. Her work is extraordinary; she is widely recognized as the best living miniaturist potter & without question is definitely the best in terms of stoneware & redware.

In the later-1980s, Jane began hand-throwing replicas of early American sgraffito redware, which is quite popular among her collectors and others who love Americana. Her pieces have great potential for increasing in value & I completely adore them. She is the nicest DH artisan I've ever met or dealt with, no offense to others, just my experience. The cupboard is vintage & used but in fabulous shape with no issues or damage. Some spots of the paint on the edges were lightly sanded purposely by the artisans to simulate age/wear but I guarantee this is original & not damage.

The pottery is basically new, though some is from last year but has never been used before. It is important to NOTE that the horse plate has an original firing flaw on the edge of the plate (see last photo) as do many of the original stoneware pieces.

This is something I only saw after taking these photos & I will not take them again because it took forever! , BUT if you want a different horse plate, the one shown on the right in that last photo can be included instead & it has no flaws, even if you are a nitpicker like me. STICKY TACK- I never usually use anything to stick down these pottery pieces for my photos but this time I did & it will all be removed before mailing without damage to the piece.
