DESCRIPTION- Offered here is a rare crewel work 1:12 dollhouse miniature chair. The chair is wooden & was hand made by Betty Valentine. She did the best hand carved wooden ball in claw feet. The covering was hand stitched by Jean Strup in the early 1980's. Gorgeous needle work, fabulous dual artisan work that is among the best miniature pieces I've ever had that looks even better in person. The crewel work features a flowering tree with a crowned bird, a snake, a stag, a squirrel, & two blue birds barely visible on the inner parts of the arms. This is unsigned as far as I can see, but I guarantee it to be by both artisans. I once saw one of these chairs signed but the other two I've seen were not. It measures 3 & 7/8" tall X 2 & 7/8" wide X 3 & 1/4 deep.
CONDITION- Excellent condition, I noticed no damage or issues though this is vintage & used. In back photo it looks on screen like a darker spot in the middle, but this is a trick of the velvet in light & does not exist in real life, can send a photo to prove this if desired. Please forgive the incorrect condition report that previously appeared here which I accidentally pasted from another listing, sorry.
We truly want you to be happy & so we strive to be overwhelmingly anal in pointing out condition to avoid any unwelcome surprises & leave you feeling it is better in person than we made it sound. We describe our items thoroughly & offer many photos.
What you see is what you will get. If you read & look thoroughly, you will get what you expect & hopefully you will be pleased.
