Up for sale is this very rare and sought after Miniature collectible. This is a signed Ernie Levy miniature reproduction of a Chippendale mahogany 3-drawer blockfront writing desk, with pull out slide and pigeonhole interior.
The photo copied piece of paper seen in photos. Was folded up in the bottom drawer of the desk. It gives the history and description of the original piece, circa 1760. That was at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts in the Karolik Collection.
Measures approximately 3 1/2 inches wide, 2 inches thick, and 3 1/2 inches tall. There are 2 original stickers on the back. The other is C-1760 HDQU5.Two the best of my knowledge this was built in the 1:12 scale. Though I DO NOT guarantee this. It is vintage and previously owned. I've looked this over very thoroughly, and cant see any repairs etc. Even the tiny ones inside. The slide top is a bit tight and hard to pull out. Could use a tiny bit of bees wax etc. This clipping below is from a similar piece we found on the internet. We found a few of this style searching around. Ours says #002 Out of how many we have no idea.
For the most part this is very uncommon. But occasionally it does happen. Italy, Egypt, and Brazil to name a couple.
